Deli / Butchers Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our food prep team serving a busy retail store.

**This job involves handling large volumes of heavy produce therefore a high degree of physical fitness is required. To be successful in this role you must be willing to work efficiently to a high standard, we are not a 'stand still' workforce.**

Permanent contract will be offered only after a twelve week probation period.

**Part-time (25+ hours) Monday - Friday hours only - no weekends.**

**Responsibilities**:

- Package and label meat products for display and sale.
- Assist butchers in preparing prepackaged meat products for sale on shop floor.
- Assist in the preparation of prepackaged food to go meals for sale on shop floor.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of food prep area.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure product quality and customer safety.
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation.
- Whilst this is not a customer facing role excellent customer service will be expected whilst on shop floor packing produce out.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in a kitchen or food production environment is essential.
- Knowledge of basic culinary techniques and food preparation methods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team.

**Salary**: From £10.42 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 25 per week

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

- Derry, BT48 9LS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Butchering: 1 year (preferred)
