We are a family run business based on the A68 in between Bishop Auckland and Darlington. We run a fleet of Tipper wagons along side our Turf farming. We deliver Turf, Sands & Aggregates all around the North East & North Yorkshire.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Transport Clerk / Administrator to join our team to support our growing turf and transport business. This role would suit someone who can be flexible, has a positive, solution-oriented mindset and someone who loves what they do.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is a team player, enjoys working under pressure and is able to multitask.

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:
- Answering the telephone to process orders and help with general enquiries
- Serving customers in the yard and taking payments
- Splitting daily tickets and assisting with invoices and Statements throughout the Month.
- Implement and maintain procedures/office administrative systems
- Provide administrative support to the office manager
- Day-to-day operational running of the office
- Manage client-related admin
- Calendar management and meeting organisation
- Liaise with staff and clients. Creating memos and carrying out toolbox talks with drivers.
- Drive forward a positive Safety culture with both drivers and office peers.
- Daily planning of vehicles to meet customer requirements and service within closely defined targets
- Liaise with delivery and collection points and drivers, as and when necessary.
- Manage vehicle and driver resources, ensuring planned maintenance is upheld and driver HR matters are addressed per company policy and procedures.
**The Person**:
- Previous Transport/Logistics experience is essential for this role
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships
- The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Good knowledge of Office software (Word, Excel, Adobe/PDF)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Be professional & organized
- Good geographical awareness
Normal working days are Monday to Friday. 40 Hours per calendar week + occasional Saturday mornings during busy periods as and when needed.
RATE OF PAY NEGOTIOABLE DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE
