**Job description**:
This role is being offered to support the delivery of business-critical tasks for the Bus Service Operators Grant (BSOG), Covid Bus Service Support Grant (CBSSG) and Bus Recovery Grant (BRG).

This is a unique opportunity to ensure that the bus industry maintains its long-standing reputation and continues to run a sufficient level of services.

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Manage the day-to-day payments to BSOG (£250m legacy grant), Covid recovery grants (BRG) - (£535m) and legacy matters of CBSSG circa £1.4 bn (Covid-19 Bus Service Support Grant This includes, supporting the team in the processing of claims. Completing checks to ensure that claims are processed accurately and arbitrating on more complex cases. Be conversant with current regulations by keeping up to date with changes as they develop.
- Deliver effective customer service internally and externally exploring options and adopting solutions to day-to-day problems with operator’s claims and in response to policy changes. Actively contribute to improve the ways in which we can work together in the team and the wider division. Communicate with the wider team effectively. Contribute to improving the overall wellbeing and motivation of the team. Praise, share and reward examples of good behaviour and outstanding work. Support any actions that may be required from the audit completed by Government Internal Audit Agency.
- Work with the Project and Programme Manager to provide monthly reporting on progress with payments to team leaders and senior managers. You will update and maintain a dashboard which records the amount of funding spent during the year, a risk register and associated mitigation actions, and a workplan of key milestones. You will support the digital lead in process improvements, input to the digital system, user testing and working effectively with developers.
- Manage queries from operators in the appropriate dedicated inbox. You will reply to standard queries from operators, direct more complex queries to relevant policy, finance, or operational colleagues for a reply, and maintain a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document of the most common queries from operators.- You will be expected to support with training and other capacity building initiatives for the team and the overall bus division.

You will represent the Agency in a professional and clear manner, ensuring key messages are delivered to both internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner.

You would like to gain experience in supporting a team with their well-being and new ways of working following the pandemic, which will include the need to be present in the Hastings office 40% of working time.

**Additional Information**:
A minimum of 40% of your working time should be spent at your principal workplace, although requirements to attend other locations for official business, or carry out detached duty in another DfT workplace, will also count towards this level of attendance.
