The post holder forms part of the team supporting the Human Anatomy Unit including the Pathology Museum. The post holder, in consultation with the HAU Manager, Head of Unit, and Topic leads is responsible for the provision, preparation, management and maintenance of prosections and relevant specimens.
**Duties and responsibilities**:
The post holder will be responsible for co-leading UG technical duties and provide support for all other duties within the Unit including embalming, administration duties and the delivery of all undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and research. The post holder will be involved with the statutory record keeping required by the Human Tissue Act and by health and safety legislation.
**Essential requirements**:
- Experience and knowledge of relevant laws and HTA regulations relating to Anatomical Examination
- Experience of the protocols and processes associated with the receipt, processing, curation, and disposition of human anatomical donations for educational purposes.
- Knowledge and understanding of human anatomy.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations and Legislation
- Ability to Prosect
- Experience of Teaching Human Anatomy and creating teaching materials
- Knowledge and understanding of embalming and associated preparation processes
- Methodical approach
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- High degree of tact and diplomacy
- Close attention to detail
- Good interpersonal and organisational skills
