We are looking for a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor to join our supportive and enthusiastic Corporate Health and Safety Team.

Supported by a Senior Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor and the Corporate Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager, you will work closely with 5 other advisors and an apprentice to support managers within dedicated departments to undertake their health and safety duties and responsibilities.

The team, which is ISO45001 certified, sits within People Services, winners PPMA Public Sector Team of the Year Award 2021, meaning we work closely with Human Resources, Organisational Development and Learning and Development teams. We also work closely with the Traded Health, Safety and Wellbeing Team which primarily provides support to academy schools and other services that buy into Leicestershire Traded Services.

As a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor, you will carry out health and safety audits, inspections, and accident investigations and will provide advice to managers on a day-to-day basis on a range of health, safety, and wellbeing issues. You will also be involved in exciting project work such as developing and delivering health and safety training, health and safety campaigns, implementation of the Council’s health and safety management system and updating policies and documentation.

This is a great opportunity for you to develop your expertise through exposure to a broad range of work and variety of work environments and challenges.

The post is available as a combination of office and home working. You will be required to visit Council sites across the county.

**About You**
- Hold a NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (Level 3) or equivalent qualification. Hold IOSH Technical Membership
- Have experience of undertaking health, safety, and wellbeing activities, including good knowledge and understanding of hazards, risks and control measures that can be applied to a broad range of service areas.
- Have knowledge and understanding of ISO45001.
- Be able to write accurate and concise health and safety reports using template documents.
- Be a strong, concise, and effective communicator at all levels, including ability to deliver Health and Safety training.
- Be able to demonstrate a fluent understanding of ICT programmes including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Possession of a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle. However, a reasonable adjustment will be considered for an applicant with a disability.
