Trainee Greenkeeper

Crowborough Beacon Golf Club is an 18 hole private members golf club that was founded in 1895, situated in Crowborough, East Sussex. It is ideally located to access both Kent and Sussex.

**Trainee Greenkeeper role**:
You will be working within a team of 7 Greenkeepers initially working on basic Greenkeeping duties and then being introduced to all golf course equipment and machinery. By working within a team over time you will gain experience and be involved in all areas of golf course maintenance and management. You must be prepared for early mornings and working in all weather conditions. The work is physically challenging, and a good level of fitness will be important. You will work with and be trained by a young, dynamic and successful team of Greenkeepers.

The position of Trainee Greenkeeper will be based on full time hours, Monday to Friday and will require alternate weekend shifts on a 1 in 3 rota basis.

This position will provide you with full training and an opportunity to study for NVQ 2 sports turf management.

An interest in golf or working outdoors key.

**Duties include**:
General maintenance and upkeep of the golf course

Cutting greens, tees, fairways and rough using ride-on and pedestrian mowers

Bunker edging and raking

Strimming

Keeping all areas of the estate well presented

Woodland/Heathland management

Good Communicator

Friendly disposition

Keen eye for detail

Interest in golf or green keeping preferred but not essential

Early start times are essential from 5.30am including weekends.

Driving license preferred.

**Salary**: £14,000.00-£24,000.00 per year
