**_ This position will be based at the Borders General Hospital (Melrose) but there will be a requirement to work flexibly across the Scottish Borders region serving acute and primary health care facilities._**

NHS Borders Estates & Facilities department has a vacancy for a suitably qualified and experience estates officer to help manage the building maintenance and minor works programmes across the estate.

Ideally with experience in a range of building type disciplines such as plumbing, joinery, painting and grounds maintenance.

The person will possess excellent interpersonal skills teamed with good organisational skills, assertiveness and diplomacy; with the ability to use logic to solve problems rationally and effectively and be able to communicate clearly and articulately across all levels.

The person must be willing to undertake the role of Authorised Person/responsible person for building systems and undergo training, attend training courses when required.

There is a requirement to provide on-call services and the occasional requirement to work out with normal hours. (e.g. emergency situation)
