This innovative international development organisation are currently seeking an International Programme Accountant to join their high performing team in this newly created role. Reporting into an experienced Programme Finance Manager, you will learn theropes of all things project accounting whilst taking responsibility for the full financial management for your own programmes throughout their lifecycle.

**The main responsibilities of this International Programme Accountant role are as follows**:

- Take the lead on the management and compliance of all grants under your area of responsibility, reporting on all financial matters to specific programme donors in a timely fashion.
- Full responsibility for monitoring project expenditure against budgets, investigating variances and reforecasting as required.
- Play a pivotal role in the preparation of budgets for all new international programmes, ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
- Business partner with the international finance teams, challenging attitudes, updating budgets according to programme changes and dealing with queries as required.
- Undertake international travel to various locations to develop and manage relationships with stakeholders on programme-specific matters.
- Produce monthly management accounts for internal use, highlighting margin obtained and outstanding funding where appropriate.
- Qualified as an accountant or be a finalist still studying towards a relevant accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
- Exceptional communication skills, an ambitious flare and the desire to learn new things quickly.
- A background in, or a passion for the international development sector.
- Experience preparing complex reports in a demanding environment.
- Strong Excel skills and sound technical accounting knowledge.
