**About The Role**:
***Please note that this is a part-time position of 15 hours per week with a salary of £11,924.19 pro rata per annum**
EKC Group are seeking an ALS Tutor at Broadstairs College.
As an ALS Tutor you will assess and work with students from a variety of learning environments who are experiencing difficulties with learning. Your role will include
- providing 1:1 support to learners to enable them to achieve their maximum potential
- planning focused tasks which complement designated study programmes and/or courses.
- key responsibility for ensuring the design, delivery and evaluation of these support programmes within vocational curriculums for students working at Level 1- Level 3
- also be involved in the delivery of in-service staff training.
Your involvement with students will include
- participating in the consultation process for students with EHCPs hoping to attend a college in the EKC Group
- supporting any students working at level 2 and 3 to ensure a high quality learning experience
- contribute to annual reviews for students with EHCPs to consider their achievements, support needs and next destinations.

We are recruiting to a part time role of 15 hours per week over 2 days. This role forms a job share with the current ALS Tutor who works Monday to Wednesday. Therefore this role is Thursday and Friday to ensure continuous support for students across the week.

**About You**:
You will have a passion for overcoming barriers to learning. They will be highly organised, creative and be able to plan and teach engaging and innovative sessions. They will have strong demonstrable interpersonal skills to engage reluctant learners. They will be skilled in assessing and tracking student progress and planning further intervention. This will be a vital part of the role, ensuring all students develop the skills they need to succeed.
You will be able to teach a range of designated study programs and/or ad hoc sessions from Level 1 up to Level 3, and will be able to motivate learners to achieve and succeed on their programmes of study.
You will also have proven people management skills to supervise and develop a team of learning support staff. Experience in working with individuals with learning needs and/or care needs would also be an advantage.
Ideally you will have experience of teaching or have delivered 1:1 support or training in the workplace, although this is not essential as training will be offered to the successful applicant. You must have a positive outlook and be empathetic towards learners.
