The successful applicant will be trained in, and expected to become highly proficient in the following tasks:
- Winter pruning and tie-ing down of fruiting canes.
- Trellis repair and maintenance
- All aspects of tractor/machinery operations, including:
- Mechanical weed control
- Soil cultivations
- Foliar spraying
- Grass cutting
- Machine harvester operation
- Bud rubbing
- Shoot thinning
- Wire lifting, vertical training
- Leaf stripping
- Crop thinning
- Grape harvesting

Within the 265 acres currently under vine, Denbies has the greatest variety of soil types, slope aspects, site altitudes, micro-climates and vine varieties of any UK vineyard.

After significant and on-going investment in the vineyard and winery, our next phase of investment is the most important one of all - people. Good people are the lifeblood of any company, and we wish to strengthen our vineyard team by bringing on board a highly motivated vineyard worker - with a view to taking on a different role in the future.
The successful applicant must have a viticultural background or a strong interest in viticulture.
Working with the Vineyard Manager, the current Vineyard Worker is a long-term role, and there are very significant advancement prospects for someone with the right work ethic, a willingness to learn patience and perseverance.
Start date: Monday 5th March.
