Fuel Point Assistant

Superb opportunity for an individual to join the friendly team at Arriva TrainCare’s train depot in Eastleigh on a permanent contract. You will be working on a 4 on, 4 off shift roster working 20:00 - 06:30.

This is a development role that will enable, through a detailed progression plan, your ability to fulfil the Service Assistant Role. The requirements for progression are detailed within the training section of this document.

A varied role, that includes efficiently operating the fuel point and CET plant to deliver the highest possible performance as a team member. Cover the Operational Controller duties as and when required. Carry out overnight servicing on a variety of customer trains, including, but not limited to the replenishment of coolants, oils, fuels, sanding systems and screen wash.

**Responsibilities**:
Carry out tasks to deliver customer requirements, in accordance with laid down operating instructions, ensuring compliance at all times. To include:

- Fuelling of traction units.
- Filling toilet water tanks and emptying effluent tanks.
- Filling wholesome water tanks
- Replenishment of coolants, oils, sanding systems and screenwash
- Topping up of other ontrain systems, as instructed by your line manager

Ensure efficient throughput of vehicles to enable smooth and safe operation of the depot.

Stand in for, and cover the role of Operations Controller, as and when required.

Carry out Maintenance Activities to documented instructions (VMI)

Where necessary training and competency requirements have been met, operate plant and equipment as required to meet the needs of the business.

Assist maintenance staff and Train Presentation department in carrying out their duties, as requested by the Team Leader.

Ensure all documentation / paperwork issued relating to the work being carried out is correctly and fully completed.
