**Job Title**: Junior Procurement Specialist

**Location**: Edinburgh, Scotland (hybrid 3-4 days in the office)

**Engagement**: Contract - 8 weeks initial

**Pay**: £110/day (inside IR35 via an umbrella company)

**Details**:
As a Junior Procurement Specialist, you will play a vital role in our clients procurement team based in Edinburgh. You will be responsible for various procurement activities to ensure the smooth operation of their organization.

**Your key responsibilities will include**:

- Conducting data analysis of live contract data to ensure accuracy and currency. Proficiency in Excel is highly beneficial.
- Collaborating with the procurement team to update and maintain contract hierarchy, utilizing Contract Lifecycle Management tools where applicable.
- Sourcing goods and services within specified budgets and negotiating with suppliers to secure the best possible terms and prices.
- Comparing prices among multiple vendors to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Managing inventory levels by ordering necessary items, such as office supplies, on an ongoing basis.
- Reviewing and authorizing invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established procedures.
- Evaluating vendor performance and making decisions regarding ongoing relationships.
- Maintaining accurate records and entering data into procurement databases.
- Collaborating with colleagues to plan and prioritize procurement activities.
- Reviewing and creating requisitions for purchased items, managing approval processes, and transmitting purchase orders and related documents to suppliers.
- Tracking order acknowledgement, preparing reports on shortages and backlogs, and promptly communicating potential disruptions to internal stakeholders.
- Monitoring order status, lead times, delivery dates, and costs to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
- Maintaining and updating purchase orders in compliance with supplier agreements and contracts.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing appropriate actions.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Demonstrable knowledge of the principles within Contract Law
- Strong analytical skills with intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of procurement processes and best practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
