The purpose of the role is to review and certify product quality, report any deficiencies during both the product and process lifecycles. To enable the company to meet on time delivery and product quality while achieving internal key performance indicators.

The expectation of the Senior Inspector role is that the time will be approximately 75% hands on Quality Control role and 25% additional responsibilities as out lined in this profile.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Inspector within our Slingsby Advanced Composites department, based in Kirbymoorside, North Yorkshire.

Job purpose:
As a key part of the team, you will be involved in mentoring and developing other members of the team and sharing knowledge and experience between team members. You will be key to driving and sustaining business improvements as well as ensuring that the products manufactured meet the high-quality standard that we have set ourselves; in order to maintain our AS9100 and NADCAP certifications.
- can-do attitude and be able to promote an integrated team approach between QC and Operations, as well as ensuring that all business specifications are understood, maintained, and employed by the wider business team.

KEY TASKS

Main duties will include
- Supporting QC related meetings and completion of associated actions.
- Leading the Local Quality SQDCP daily meetings; to target and track activities.
- Ensure compliance of product, paperwork, and processes.
- Inspection of products to specifications
- Ownership of QC Customer Return Strip and Survey activities/reports.
- Reporting of Non-Conformances / Issues using business processes and tools.
- Data gathering, analysis and report writing
- Suggesting and creating improvement proposals.
- Conduct corrective action and preventive action investigations to remove repeat issues.
- Off-site supplier acceptance activities
- Mentoring other inspectors and staff of QC related activities.
- Conducting audits as requested by Head of Quality.

ABOUT YOU
- Good standard of education, GCSE level or equivalent
- Good written and verbal skills.
- Experience in a production environment.
- Quality Control Skills (ideally Vernier, Surface Finish, CMM, Sokia)
- Experience of First Article Inspection (FAI) information and compilation.
- Experience in completion of customer requested FAI’S.
- Experience of validation of Supplier provided FAIs.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
