Harwich, United Kingdom Trinity House Full time

**Ready for your next step and a rewarding career where you can make a real difference?**

As an island nation, the UK is almost entirely reliant of the safe arrival and departure of shipping from its ports, with around 95% of the UK’s goods entering or leaving the UK by sea. Every single person in the UK consumes goods daily that have been imported by ship. Manufacturers, energy companies, supermarkets, hospitals and many more vital services rely on ships and seafarers for their imports. Some 65 million sea-borne passengers globally rely on shipping for access to public services, employment, business and holiday travel every year.

While Trinity House is a charity dedicated to safeguarding shipping and seafarers, its role as a General Lighthouse Authority is essential to the prosperity of the UK. The capability and development of our procurement and contract profession is vital to delivery our mission and vision, ensuring we continue to provide value for money services as a leading maritime organisation.

In this role, reporting to the Procurement Manager, you’ll be making a valuable contribution to the organisation’s purchasing capability as whole, specifically focusing on the more complex projects and higher value contracts. Leading a team of assistant procurement specialists, you’ll also be responsible for a variety of procurement and contract management activities. This will include the development of contract KPIs to help successfully deliver multiple year complex revenue and capital contracts.

As an experienced procurement professional with a CIPS level 5 qualification or equivalent, you’ll have experience of producing and evaluating UK Government set threshold tenders as well as a working knowledge of the Public Contract Regulations 2015. Your people management skills will enable you to provide effective leadership and management of your team, and to oversee the performance targets of the wider team. Your ability to plan, prioritise and organise tasks both short to mid-term are second nature to you, as is your ability to be flexible as priorities change.

We embrace diversity and celebrate our differences. Everyone is involved in making Trinity House an inclusive and great place to work. We actively promote a flexible approach to working where possible, whilst giving our staff opportunities to maximise their skills and achieve their full potential. We aspire to have a diverse and inclusive workplace and strongly encourage suitably qualified applicants from a wide range of backgrounds, to apply.
