We are a 5 bedded Critical Care Unit. We care for a variety of different specialities - reconstructive plastic surgery, reconstructive head & neck cancer surgery and maxillofacial trauma and major burn patients requiring HDU / ITU level of care.

Our Team is committed to delivering high quality, evidence-based care, which focuses on the individual needs of the patients and their relatives.

We are seeking a Deputy Matron to provide excellent, strong leadership, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and high quality patient care. You will be a key member of the management team, progressing patient care pathways, and managing critical care resources effectively whilst assisting in leading and developing the nursing team.

If you are keen to gain new skills and knowledge in a specialist area, we can offer you wonderful development opportunities while working as part of the multi-disciplinary team. We are keen to enhance the skills and knowledge of our staff with the use of simulation training, educational development days and completion of CCU competencies.

Alongside clinical duties you will be given 11.5 hour management time per week to achieve the following:

- Support Clinical Educator with Simulation Training Days and CCU Educational Days
- Attend SECCCN meetings
- Attend CCU Governance Meetings
- Reviewing staffing levels and skill mix
- Appraisals
- 1:1 support
- Audits
- Datix Investigations
- Attendance management
