**S. Clarke +Son Funeral Directors** are an independent 4th generation family business that has been supporting bereaved families in Ards and North Down for over a century.
We are looking for a caring and empathetic person to join our team to serve families in our local community during one of the most difficult periods of their lives.

We currently have a position for a part-time Funeral Arranger working a minimum of
26 hours per week within our two branches in Newtownards and Bangor. There will be a requirement to cover holiday, training, sickness absence and therefore the need for flexibility is essential. The post will include working alternating Saturdays. The position will require you to provide an excellent service for customers and assist in the process of arranging and planning funeral services within a tight-knit team environment.

Some of the key duties of the post are as found in the Job Specification:

- Answering the telephone in a polite and efficient manner.
- Taking, recording, and forwarding accurate messages.
- Being the first point of contact for families and “face” of S Clarke +Son
- Accompanying the family of the deceased to our Chapel of Rest
- Arranging funeral services in accordance with bereaved families wishes
- Daily banking of monies received in settlement of funeral and other accounts.
- Maintaining branch petty cash records, processing of card payments etc.
- Ensuring that the Funeral Home is clean, tidy, and always welcoming.
- Caring, empathetic and confident nature
- Understand and be able to address the needs of the bereaved
- A competent administrator, accurate, with excellent attention to detail
- Computer literate including MS Word and Excel
- Flexible attitude - adaptable to the needs of the organisation
- Demonstrate a calm, efficient and compassionate demeanour
- Reliability, honesty, and a commitment to always maintaining confidentiality

**Education**:

- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Office Adminstration: 3 years (preferred)
- Customer Service: 3 years (preferred)
