MMP Consultancy are working with a fantastic organisation to recruit a Housing Taskforce Enabling Officer to work on a permanent or fixed term contract in East Devon.
We are looking for someone to actively promote and pursue the delivery of additional affordable/social housing to meet the housing needs of the business. To support and enable development partners find solutions to funding and delivery of new affordable/socialhomes.

**Responsibilities**:
Identify and recommend potential development opportunities within the local authorities land ownership and across the East Devon area.
Work closely with and influence Registered Providers, Developers, Landowners, Towns & Parish Councils, Homes England and any other housing providers to ensure that affordable housing is provided where it is most needed.
Work closely with and influence strategic planning, development management and property officers within the authority to progress and deliver affordable housing developments through the planning process and/or on Council owned land.
Advise on development agreements, nomination agreements, financial viability, housing need and other aspects of the process involved in delivering affordable housing.
Survey properties for the purpose of acquisition and source expert advice where needed to inform acquisition decisions.
Consider and use Right to Buy receipts appropriately and in accordance with guidance and deadlines to ensure suitable property is acquired or built to add to the council's housing stock.
Develop and maintain a database of all affordable housing developments within East Devon.
Oversee an agreed development programme with Registered Providers that achieves adopted Housing Strategy and Corporate Strategy targets.
Skills & Abilities:
Good general education e.g. 5 x GCSE grade C and above - including Maths and English
Experience of property construction, planning process, property marketplace and property values.
Housing Qualification, Degree or equivalent
An extensive working knowledge of development, viability, current National Planning Policy Framework, Local Planning Policy and other current Government initiatives
A good working knowledge of property development process and construction techniques
Competent with IT and ability to use Microsoft office products
Accuracy and attention to detail particularly when working to tight deadlines
