**Job title: Personal assistant for a young child**

**Location / Postcode**:London SW9

**What does the job involve?**

The child is a non-verbal, happy, and energetic 6-year-old boy with autism. His joyful and lively nature is evident through his actions and expressions, even though he does not use spoken language to communicate.

The PA will be required to supervise the young boy and always ensure his safety whilst in their care.

Engage in active play, such as running around and playing with water and sand.

Assist with feeding and personal care involving the changing of nappies.

The PA will also need to support the young boy with accessing the community and engaging in social activities (e.g. supervise and engage in playing at parks, trampolining, play centres etc). He will need to always hold someone’s hand in open outdoor spaces, such as near roads and in shops.

**Hours / days**:12 hours per week Term Time and 15 hours per week School Holidays.

Fridays
- 4pm to 6pm (start times on Fridays may vary depending on when transport drops him off after school)

Saturdays
- 1pm to 6 pm

Sundays
- 1pm to 6pm

3 days a week during school holidays. Times and days to be discussed.

Some level of flexibility required

**Pay rate**:£13.50 per hour

**Skills / experience / qualifications required**:
A caring, kind, active, patient, and understanding person.

You must have proven experience of working with nonverbal children.

Understanding of unique needs and behaviours.

Willingness to adapt to child’s preferences and routines.

Capable of effectively communicating with a child who does not use spoken language.

Someone who genuinely cares about children and enjoys engaging in active play.
