We have an exciting opportunity for a** Yard Marshal** to join us at our new Super Hub in **Barnsley** on a _9 Month Fixed Term Contract, working any 5 days in 7 across 3 shifts AM, PM and Nights_

**Your purpose (in a nutshell)**

Working closely with the Gatehouse, Yard Controllers and the warehouse operation, you will ensure that trailers and contents are correct so that all SLA are achieved.

**You will be accountable for**:

- Carrying out full yard checks and ensuring the yard management system is accurate.
- Ensuring the Warehouse Management are given regular updates on the yard.
- Providing cover for the Gatehouse Co-ordinator as required.
- Providing the Yard Controller with a list of discrepancies in the yard and solutions on how to resolve discrepancies.
- Undertaking full yard checks in line with the required standards and at the compulsory intervals whilst on shift.
- Ensuring that all required reporting documentation are managed and maintained to the required standard and timescales.
- Communicating any issues and daily performance to the Yard Controller on shift to maintain yard compliance.
- Ensuring that no unauthorised persons are permitted in prohibited areas.
- Following correct processes to ensure the correct loads are attached to the correct trailers using relevant site systems.
- Ensuring that all H&S and hygiene requirements are adhered to in the Gatehouse and Yard whilst on shift.
- Attending regular 1-2-1’s and performance reviews with the Yard Controllers and attending Team Meetings as and when required.
- Leading by example in creating a professional and positive work environment.
- Creating a safe working environment by identifying safety risks and hazards, also opportunities for improvement across the yard.
