We are looking to recruit someone into the Head of Patient Flow, to continue to develop this team and the improvements we have been making over the last 2 years. This role heads up the Flow Team and is key to the success in working with the 5 Care Groups, and the range of stakeholders who are in contact with patients when they present for care. You'll lead on wider Transformation programmes relating to flow and increasing access for people to urgent care space, alongside safe care within community settings. We have an ambition to reduce all out of area placements in 2024-25.

This role will report directly to the Deputy Chief Operating Officer (COO) and is part of the Chief Operating Officer portfolio. The Head of Patient Flow will provide leadership and clinical expertise for programmes of work with a specific focus on working with mental health inpatient units, and community services across Care Groups to improve patient flow. The postholder will line manage a team of staff while providing leadership and programme management to the wider Improving Flow programme; and will support the coordination and development of short
- and medium-term plans to improve resilience and proactive management of service pressures. The key focus of this role is as a registered practitioner who will act as an expert credible leader for the delivery of a user-centred and evidence-based patient flow service aligned to national best practice.

- Strong and demonstrable skills in leadership and clinical engagement
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to produce reports and presentations
- Analytical skills and is data driven

- Feels passionate about taking forward community powered services
- The ability to lead strategically across services and systems
