As Outage Planner you’ll have a critical role within NGET. System Access (outages) are a key requirement to enable the business to carry out all types of critical work that deliver business outcomes. You’ll own and manage the outage plan, liaising with customers, stakeholders and the system operator. You’ll understand the planning and operation of the network and work in collaboration with various parties to drive the best outcomes for the business and end consumers.

Reviewing potential risks in the operational time horizons, you’ll liaise with stakeholders and customers to assess risks and understand required mitigating actions, whilst managing and optimising system access in operational timescales to drive the best business outcomes.

You’ll own the communication and cascade of operational outage planning decisions and changes to NGET departments, actively identifying and driving internal policy and process improvements which benefit the business.

You’ll provide support for the Transmission Network Control Centre (TNCC) for the production and update of a safe and deliverable outage plan, and you’ll coordinate with the year ahead outage plan to provide operational insight to its development.

This role is based at our offices in Warwick and can be combined with hybrid working from home.

**What you'll need**:
With a background in planning, you’ll have a high level of attention to detail and the ability to analyse complex information and interactive plans.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make complex technical decisions within challenging deadlines, coupled with negotiation and dispute resolution skills are key as is the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across businesses.

You’ll need to be able to multi-task and prioritise workload in a high-paced environment and to tight deadlines and be able to effectively communicate complex information.

You’ll ideally have a technical appreciation of the electricity system and assets, and knowledge of Outage Planning codes and procedures, although training will be provided.

An appreciation of the Security and Quality of Supply Standards (SQSS), Safety rules and working procedures would be beneficial, but not essential.

You’ll be qualified to a minimum of HNC level (GNVQ level 4 qualification) preferably in an engineering or STEM discipline or have the relevant experience in a previous role.
