**Electrical Supervisor**

Location: Montrose

Electrical Supervisor

Electrical Supervisors oversee workers installing and repairing electrical equipment at a facility or site.

Reports to Area Superintendent Location.

As an Electrical Supervisor you will need experience in managerial roles as well as Electrical Engineering. You will oversee all aspects of the work of the electrical team.

This will mean you will have to make decisions regarding the hiring, evaluation, promotion and termination of employees. You will also be responsible for scheduling, assigning, planning and monitoring the work of personnel performing a variety of electrical projects. You will need to plan and develop work schedules and equipment usage schedules as well as procedures for equipment and appliance maintenance.

You will also be promoting a safe working ethic in all that you do. You will also be expected to enforce safety regulations and ensure adherence to proper codes and standards.

You may also be required to review plans for future projects and inspect new structures to ensure compatibility with existing electrical codes and maintenance standards. In addition, you will be in charge of payrolls and the maintenance of various records and submit reports.
- Knowledge of the tools, equipment and materials common to the electrical trade.
- Inspect new constructions.
- Assist engineers in design requirements.
- Keep up-to-date with electrical codes, standards and regulations.
- Have skills in the installation, repair and maintenance of all types of electrical system equipment and components.
- Estimate time and material requirements of assigned work projects.
- Communicate effectively to employees in your charge.

Role of a Supervisor
- Supervisors play a key role in the health and safety of any contract.
- They develop, implement and monitor the Safe Systems of Work that we use.
- They are “hands on” with the safety and standards of work in our workplaces.
- They are responsible for putting your people to work.
- They have responsibility to check that the workplaces in which you place your workforce are acceptable and safe.
- They have responsibility to check that adequate controls are in place to reduce risk.

Role Profile
- They must supervise your workforce.
- They must ensure they understand the essential safety requirements.

Experience / Qualifications
- Experience of work within the Process, Plant or Power Generation

industries.
- You will hold qualifications in Electrical Installation such as 17th Edition and

a JIB card. You may require specialist qualifications such as COMPEX.

Positions of such responsibility generally require either NVQs or City and

Guilds qualifications combined with a proven track record of employment in

the discipline, excellent management skills and practical knowledge of health

and safety practice. ECITB's Supervisory Management Training and
