**The Opportunity**

The Networks Principal Consultant (PC) will provide technical leadership to our customers across Support, Managed and Cloud Services. The PC is responsible for architectural governance and technical aspects in the delivery of wired, wireless and networksecurity managed services to Block’s enterprise clients. The focus will be in meeting our client’s business, technical and IT service management needs. The result being right first time, quality managed services.

**Role Responsibilities**

**Service Operations**
- Work programmatically with network infrastructure (including using APIs) to operate and configure for both day-zero deployments and ongoing management
- Constantly evaluate whether new opportunities are available for optimising and enhancing network solutions using automation
- Maintain and augment internally developed tooling and services by leveraging software development lifecycle best practices including GIT and CI/CD
- Deliver incident and problem management activities to agreed service levels
- Deliver monitoring and managed services activities to agreed service levels
- Ensure architectural governance and control is maintained for managed service customers
- Provide escalation management for ongoing support and managed services, including Vendor TAC Management activities
- Control full hardware and software maintenance and management
- Train, develop and mentor team members to technically deliver services
- Plan, produce and maintain technical methods and processes to enable the successful delivery of services

**Other Service Management Activities**
- Assess, Evaluate, Authorise and Implement change within the customer managed service environments
- Ensure ongoing document management control including technical operating policies and procedures production
- Working with Service Control to ensure full lifecycle management of Managed Service Service assets from purchase through to service cessation, including the ongoing maintenance of customer Configuration Management Database items
- Plan and manage the agile release of new solutions and services including:

- Upgrade of current services
- Planning new service into operations
- Proof of Value services into operations
- New software into operations
- Operations Readiness - Ensure that the services can be managed, operated and supported in accordance with Services sold
- Consult with Service and Project Management teams to ensure that all Managed Service technical transition elements are successfully delivered, inputting into project delivery across stages and milestones to govern the managed service elements across thefollowing stages:

- Sales Handover
- Plan deployment
- Design Technical Solution
- Build Technical solution
- Test and Validate solution
- Handover and Training

**Technical Knowledge & Experience**
- CCNP in a network discipline
- Strong technical background, with professional level technical capabilities
- Proventechnical experience operating technical infrastructure in enterprise network environments. Technology areas may include:

- **Security** - Cisco FirePOWER, ISE,Stealthwatch, DNS Umbrella, Threat Grid, AMP for Networks, Identikey, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Segmentation, TrustSec, Dot1x
- **Wireless** - Wireless Networks (Cisco WLCs, APs), Cisco DNA Centre, Guest Services, RF Planning
- **Routing & Switching** - Cisco Catalyst access switches, Cisco SD-WAN, Software Defined Networking, DNA Centre
- **Data Centre Networking (DCI)** - Cisco Catalyst and Nexus family DC switches, MDS switches, Data Centre Network Manager (DCNM), Netscaler, ACI
