The Finance Business Partner in the Cost team will act as a trusted partner to the senior management team of the Group. They will influence and support the divisional owners by providing high quality and timely financial information and analysis. They will play a pivotal role in controlling and understanding the cost base of the Group by taking the lead in the planning and reporting cycles.
As the role is exposed to sensitive data, the role holder is expected to conduct themselves with a high level of professionalism and discretion, displaying role model behaviour at all times.
This role will be based in our Reading office however, you will be able to work a blend of both home and office each week. You’ll be made to feel part of your new team by your Line Manager, and colleagues through regular contact and virtual interaction.
**What would your day look like?**
- Be a trusted business partner to the management team and attend and present the monthly financial position to the senior Budget owners.
- Be instrumental in the costs financial planning cycle including budgeting and forecasting by working with the business to understand its main cost drivers.
- Manage the risks and opportunities against the plan/forecast to ensure effective early warning of potential future problems.
- Ensure that Budget owners fully understand their cost base to ensure there are ‘no surprises’ and any significant deviations from the plan is fully understood.
- Key to achieving success within the role is the ability to influence and challenge Budget owners into a course of action resulting in the best financial outcome. This often involves the need to clearly present complex financial matters to large groups of senior non-finance managers.
- The team has a strong culture of continuous improvement and are focused on embedding best practice across the Group.
- Act as a deputy for the Senior Cost Manager as required.
- The role is focused on being a trusted business advisor and raising the level of support to the senior management teams. In this respect the job holder should be able to demonstrate excellent leadership and influencing skills, both in challenging and supporting the business. The role should also be able to act as a deputy for the Senior Cost Manager as required.

**What do we expect of you?**
- CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified
- Minimum of 5 years PQE
- Experience of dealing with and influencing senior managers.
- Excellent presentation and PowerPoint skills.
- Ability to act independently and formulate own ideas and opinions.
- Several years’ experience in a Finance Business Partnering role.
- Excellent Excel and data skills.
