**We are looking for**:
**A Work Experience Placement Officer**

**Support Scale 5 - £23,244 - £25,189 Salary, Per Annum**

**The Role**:
Work experience Placement Officer: (Full-time - All year round)

We are looking for a professional Work Experience Placement Officer, who has extensive experience of engaging with employers to secure and maximise work experience and T- Level Placement opportunities for our students.

Working to targets, you will organise and plan a range of employer engagement strategies, activities and events to develop employer partnerships and raise the profile of work experience and Industry Placements across college and within the local business community.

As part of a wider work-based learning team you will work across the team, when required, to help deliver the best outcomes for our students.

You will conduct placement risk assessments with businesses in accordance with relevant health and safety laws, and you'll be in charge of making sure all companies adhere to the necessary standards before students attend.

You will also work directly with students from across the College and be required to support their placement journey from start to finish.

You will coordinate and place students on their work experience and industry placements throughout the academic year in collaboration with the Heads of Faculty, Programme Leads, faculty tutors, and the wider work-based learning team.

You will keep up to date records of placement activity and employer engagement on internal systems such as CRM, EBS, VITAL and prepare end of year, faculty work experience reports for management.

You will have the opportunity to support community outreach initiatives designed to support recruitment in line with College targets, attend employer partnership meetings, conferences and external and internal networking events, when needed.

Come and join Oldham College in its ambition to become “Outstanding” and the “Best Place to Learn and Work” whilst playing a vital role in supporting our learners to achieve their potential.

The College delivers a full range of work-related education and training, including 16-18 programmes of study, T levels, apprenticeships, adult learning and higher education. It has over 5000 full-time students and 600 undergraduates.

**Requirements**:

- Qualified to at least NVQ Level 3 or above.
- Experience of working with young people and employers to facilitate work experience opportunities/or recruitment brokering experience.
- Current UK driving licence (and access to a car).
- Significant experience of working with a cross section of employers, students and stakeholders.
- Good knowledge and understanding of apprenticeships and ability to work across the work-based learning team, when required.
- Ability to inspire students, staff and employers to participate through the use of exciting and relevant strategies.

Oldham College is a great career choice for ambitious professionals. With a “good” Ofsted rating, one of the best apprenticeship programmes in the region, excellent 16-18 results and truly outstanding GCSE English results, we are already a high performer.

But we want to deliver much more than this. Our ambition is to be “The Best Place to Learn and Work” and we have a clear Strategic Plan which sets out what this means and what we will do to deliver it.

We will keep on improving and innovating, and we are investing in new provision, new facilities and new technology.

Further details including a Person Specification are included within the attached Job Description.

If you want to be outstanding, and want to help us achieve the same thing, then please apply.

**Joining our Journey**

- Generous Pension Scheme
- Employee Assistance Scheme
- Enhanced Maternity/Paternity provision
- Staff Development days/week (Jan, July, Aug)
