Kingsland School is a Pupil Referral Unit (Watersheddings) which caters for pupils who have been excluded from mainstream secondary education. We are a split site provision and our second site is based at Laurel Bank in Shaw which hosts our Specialist Learning Centre (SLC). The SLC supports pupils who are experiencing medical and/or psychological difficulties. This site also hosts a bespoke provision which provides an education for pupils who have previously attended the SLC who have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP), this provision is known as Laurel Gardens.

At Kingsland School our key focus is to support our pupils to help them overcome the barriers preventing them accessing mainstream education. We are an expanding provision catering for the needs of children who are experiencing a vast range of difficulties. Many of our pupils are vulnerable and have complex needs and therefore the work with parents/carers and outside agencies is crucial to achieve the best outcomes for them. Effective partnerships with secondary schools and academies are critical to achieving improved progress for all our pupils.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and motivated Pastoral Worker who is passionate about improving the life chances of vulnerable pupils and also pupils who have been excluded or are at risk of permanent exclusion from secondary education.

Our children deserve the best care and support and in return they give so much back to you. The successful individual will be required to understand the needs of our children and their families. They will need to have the creative ability to offer bespoke support for our most vulnerable children.
