**The Role**

We are Recruiting for a Goods In Operative / Stock Controller to join our team in our Bideford Branch.

The role will require you to take responsibility for all aspects of Goods In Management and Stock Control, and support the Branch Manager to achieve the companys objectives in this area. You will also be required to encourage all staff to participate in all aspects of Goods In Management with all deliveries to be checked, signed in and processed.
- To assist in the off-loading of goods arriving from the suppliers when required and to ensure all relevant documentation is checked off in accordance with company policy
- Ensure all special orders purchased are clearly marked up at time of arrival on site with pick note number and customer name - liaise with all branch staff
- To support the Management with any requirements for stock take, including the annual stock take as required
- Support staff in their understanding of the importance of dealing with customer special orders promptly.
- Ensure that all cancelled or incorrect orders are returned to the supplier. All rehandling charges must be considered and commercial decisions made.
- To assist in picking loads, and loading vehicles, where required.
- To assist colleagues in helping ensure the yard remains safe and clean.
- If required by other Branch staff, to get involved with suppliers to resolve issues created by short delivery or damage giving support colleagues who are involved in Goods in
- Work with Branch Management to implement and enforce an effective RGB Goods In procedure
- Ensure all stock is rotated effectively and is in its correct bin location
- Keep bin locations up to date
- Follow Company chain of custody procedure and ensure all relevant bins are correctly labelled
- Liaise with suppliers concerning product deliveries and supplier returns
- Work with other RTD drivers and operatives to limit stock damage
- Complete daily PPI
- Assist Manager with full stock take preparation and completion
- Investigate any stock issues
- Liaise with suppliers on any outstanding orders or returns
- Review slow moving / clearance stock
- Book in incoming purchase orders
- Liaise with all staff to ensure any special order products are marked up and sent out to customers as soon as possible
- Complete management reports as requested

**The Hours**

42.5 hours per week Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings, approximately a 1 in 3 rota system.

**Specific Experience & Skills Required**

Friendly, articulate and customer focused.

IT literate.

Forklift experience preferred, but not essential.

Appropriate supervisory experience.

Understand the importance of good stock management.

Any industry recognised training / certification.
