**About us**

Smart 11+ Tuition is a small, friendly, independent tuition company in Kings Heath. Our goal is to provide high quality tuition for the 11+ examination and KS2 SATs. We are looking for committed tutors with a passion to see students succeed in our Kings Heath tuition centre.

We are looking for a tutor who can teach Maths and Non-verbal Reasoning, and/or English and Verbal Reasoning.

**The Role**

Please note, this role is for face-to-face tuition which takes place in Kings Heath.

This role is until September 2024, in line with this year's 11+ exam, with the potential to renew the contract for another year.

Working hours: within Saturdays 8:15-1:40pm and Wednesdays 4:45pm-8:30pm, exact hours confirmed on appointment.

**Responsibilities**

1. Guiding small groups of pupils through our 11+ curriculum using the resources provided by the company.

2. Motivating pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative teaching.

3. Providing a nurturing environment in which students’ confidence can grow.

4. Marking work to facilitate positive pupil development.

5. Meeting requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils' development.

6. Providing feedback to parents and carers on a pupil's progress.

**Requirements**:
1. It is preferred that applicants have or be working towards a teaching/teaching assistant qualification OR have relevant experience working with children in the learning environment.

2. Educated to degree level is preferred but not essential providing Point 1 is accurate.

4. Ability to develop positive rapport with students.

5. Ability to nurture and help build confidence in our students.

6. Ability to provide structured and positive feedback to parents.

7. Enhanced DBS with Barred Lists clearance or be willing to apply.

8. No Childcare Disqualification or Teacher Prohibition Order.

9. For non-British nationals, the right to work in the UK.

**Important Notes**
- This role is on a contractor basis, with the initial contract until mid-September. The contract ends on the final week prior to the 11+ exam, of which the date is announced in Spring. You must be available to work up until this exam date.
- The opportunity for contract renewal will be discussed with you prior to the start of the subsequent academic year.
- There is a 1-month probation period. After 1-month you will have a review meeting with the Principal or Associate Principal.
