Classroom Buddy

**_Are you wanting to help shape the lives of children with learning difficulties but don’t feel you have the relevant qualifications?_**

Milk Education are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Classroom Buddy to work throughout Key Stage 1 and 2 in a Special Educational Needs Primary school based in Toxteth, Liverpool. All of the children in this setting currently hold an Educationand Health Care Plan (EHCP) and have Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). The role is full-time with working hours from 8:30-3:30pm.

The successful Classroom Buddy must have experience of working with children who have additional needs. Personal care will be required on a 2-1 or 3-1 basis. The successful Classroom Buddy will be expected to undertake all activities as required during theirtime at the school and be able to work as part of a team as well as being able to use initiative.

If successful, you will work under the guidance of the teaching staff to support access to learning. Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the normal teaching area.
- Previous experience working with children, or young adults, with ASD and complex needs (Voluntary experience welcome)
- Confidence dealing with pupils with different abilities and SEND requirements
- Good interpersonal and communicational skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to complete this)
- Enthusiastic attitude towards inspiring children

- Any previous experience with special educational needs
