**Your role**:We have an exciting opportunity for an EHS Officer role within our Gillingham (Dorset) site, packaged chemical warehouse.

The EHS Officer reports to the EHSS Manager. The job holder will carry out the assigned tasks with competence and will undertake any other reasonable duties which are assigned by EHSS Manager. As EHS Officer you will provide support and assistance to the EHSS Manager in ensuring that all operations at the Gillingham and Poole sites are compliant with all Company HS+E standards, policies and procedures and that these standards, policies and procedures are communicated & understood by all staff. You will ensure that all applicable Corporate and regulatory requirements (Control of Major Accident Hazards, Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme, hazardous waste, etc) are also communicated & understood with the objective of minimising potential harm to employees and non-employees, property, and the local environment.

**Please note this is a 12 months Fixed Term maternity cover.**

**Who you are**:

- Graduate degree or equivalent, preferably in a scientific discipline such as Chemistry, hazardous waste management. Desirable - NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent
- Highly motivated & have the ability to work with limited supervision
- Computer literate. Strong communication, negotiation, influencing, risk management & conflict resolution skills
- Team player behaviour - thinks beyond own targets & area
- Pragmatic approach, organised & efficient time management
- Ability to provide leadership & a pro-active approach
- Ability to multitask & produce accurate work
- Your home location is a short drive of the Gillingham (Dorset) site. This role is office & warehouse based. And may require occasional travel to our Poole office
