**THE LOCATION**

**This applicant will be required to travel to sites throughout England and Scotland. An office is to be set up around the Fleet, Hampshire area which will require commuting to a least a few days a week. Some days might be spent working from home.**

**THE ROLE**

Coordinate all relevant technical information needed to design & build the development from planning stages, through tender, detail design, NHBC compliance, on site build, and handover.

Communicate with and resolve technical queries coming from site and external consultants and to integrate solutions into drawing packages and issue information to relevant parties

Produce accurate working drawing packages to enable any given residential development to be built as intended and to obtain all necessary technical approvals

To provide a professional and complete level of CAD and drawing coordination service to the business

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**

**Typical activities**

Preparation of details and drawings in a range of Autodesk products, such as Revit, BIM360 for both standard housing range and bespoke housing

Design and coordinate design drawings at Tender Stage, works include drawings and design methodology

Manage and liaise with external designers, offsite factory and design & manufacture suppliers

Coordinate and drive roads & sewer adoption processes

Liaise with external bodies, principal Designers and Engineers to provide site wide drawing package

Site visits will be necessary so as to establish site constraints and to assist site teams on construction matters

Obtain service designs and quotations and liaise with commercial team to progress

Distribute design documents and drawings when required

Provide technical advice where appropriate to the organisation

Undertake all tasks in line with development programme and requirements

Assess design risks

Produce house type drawing packages and liaise with key suppliers to provide ancillary drawing information.

Produce block plans, sections and elevations.

Produce detail information where not already available.

Co-ordinate the accuracy of information supplied by suppliers and internal departments to ensure no discrepancies.

Submission of all information to NHBC and obtaining approval of same,

Obtaining SAP Assessments together with PEA’ and EPC’s, Secured by Design Approval, Code for Sustainable Homes, Robust Standard Details (where appropriate).

Attend Pre-Start Meetings and brief all departments on matters related to the working drawings.

Co-ordinate information and liaise with internal/external architects, civil and structural engineers and landscape architects.

Prepare all drawings and documents for printing for Pre-Start Meetings.

Manage site as agreed with the Technical Manager from design stage to post completion.

**Communication**

Attend departmental meetings as required.

Ensure all relevant stakeholders are informed of key departmental developments.

**Health and safety**

Ensure you have read the Company’s Health and Safety Policies and procedures and comply with them at all times.

Report any accidents or near misses immediately to your Manager and record them in the accident book.

Ensure your workplace is kept tidy and any hazards are eliminated or reported to your line manager.

Wear appropriate protective clothing on site at all times.

Attends all health and safety training as required by the Company.

**SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**

**Essential**

5+ years’ work experience in a design office environment

Competent in at least one of the following; AutoCad, Revit, or BIM360.

Proficient IT skills including MS Office software packages

A logical, organised and professional individual who can build relationships with others at all levels of the organisation(s)

Must have a working knowledge Construction Techniques

Preferably experienced in a construction environment

Architectural knowledge would be advantageous

Able to work at high concentration levels to ensure 'right 1st time'

CSCS Card

**Relevant experience**

At least 12 months experience working within a residential house builder

Design/drafting experience within housing sector and preferably offsite or innovative manufacturing environment

Knowledge of BIM

In-depth knowledge of CAD

**Special skills or knowledge**

Strong mathematical ability

Be able to draw freehand and have an accurate eye for detail

Be able to visualise objects in three dimensions

Be practical and methodical with good analytical skills

Be able to design and interpret the designs and technical demands of others
