Production Planner

**Company Overview**

We design, develop and deliver innovative heating and ventilation solutions that address a wide range of needs, from sustainability and efficiency, to aesthetic appeal and performance. We operate across the UK and Ireland, serving global markets through our sister company Glen Dimplex Heating & Ventilation International division.

**Main Purpose**

An excellent production planner is well-versed in production procedures and ways to optimize them. They are organized and results-driven with great problem-solving skills.

The overall goal of a successful Production Planner is to ensure the smooth and cost efficient flow of GDHV production operations.

**Responsibilities**
- To interrogate SAP system to determine production requirements
- Develop a production schedule for a wide range of fabrication assets that optimises the use of all available resources
- Liaise with internal customers, suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure plan is delivered
- Communicate effectively with key team members to ensure all people, materials, and machinery will be available when required
- Troubleshoot problems that occur during production, including staff shortages and machinery malfunctions. Assesses the impact of these and provides alternative solutions.
- Communicate effectively with team members in relation to production plan and any potential issues in relation to supply or impacts on downstream processes
- Prepare reports in relation to production processes for management teams and suggests ways to improve efficiency
- To carry out all other duties deemed appropriate to the role.

**Skills, Knowledge and Experience**
**ESSENTIAL**
- Good Standard of Education
- Experience of production/manufacturing systems and control
- Previous experience directly with customers
- Experience gained within an engineering / manufacturing environment
- The ability to work under pressure
- Positive attitude
- Ability to problem solve efficiently and effectively

**DESIRABLE**
- Experience of SAP system
