Job Introduction
Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Adult Safeguarding Partnership Board (SSASPB) is seeking a highly experienced and effective independent chair.

We seek an individual who has commitment, and determination to drive forward the Safeguarding Adults agenda in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.

The SSASPB is responsible for ensuring that adults who have need for care and support within Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire are protected and safeguarded from abuse and neglect. This is achieved through the coordinating and ensuring the effectiveness of the arrangements of the members of the board.

The role of Staffordshire and Stoke On Trent Adult Safeguarding Board Independent Chair is an Office Holder post.

Main Responsibilities
The main responsibilities are:

- To be an independent voice for the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Adult Safeguarding Partnership Board (SSASPB).
- Provide strategic leadership to ensure that the SSASPB fulfils its objectives and functions as outlined in the Care Act, 2014 and its statutory guidance; to include taking a lead role in the production and publication of the strategic plan and annual report.
- Oversee the strategic responsibilities set out in the Care Act 2014 with regard to Safeguarding Adult Reviews.
- To promote, facilitate and champion partnership working, whilst providing constructive challenge when needed, to contribute to an effective partnership approach to safeguarding adults in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, whilst recognising the independent nature of the role.

The role requires an outstanding individual with enthusiasm, commitment, and determination to drive forward the Safeguarding Adults agenda.
- Experience of leading and managing in a large public, independent, or voluntary sector organisation at a senior level.
- Proven experience of chairing complex partnership meetings.
- Ability to actively promote engagement with adults who need care and support, their families and advocates, to ensure their voices are heard and acted upon within the Board’s work.
