NIHR BioResource is a unique and powerful resource for studying disease mechanisms and for investigating the links between genes, the environment, health and disease, enabling scientific discoveries as well as facilitating translational medicine for the benefit of patients.
About the job:
The IT Service Owner will act as the owner of key services relied on to manage volunteer and clinical data in a secure manner. The role will require an organised individual to manage user groups, gather requirements and a backlog of work which may require the management of small projects. The role will also need to build good understanding of the systems to the level they can provide support and guidance to end users as well as provide training for groups of users and externals when required.
About you:
Ideally you will have: - Experience of owning or managing an IT service/enterprise scale system. - Experience of supporting users in a customer focused IT environment - Good analysis skills with ability to understand issues and document them clearly. - Ability to understand the use of an IT system to an advanced user level and the drive to learn and keep knowledge of that system up to date. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The post is available on a fixed-term basis until 30 November 2024 in the first instance. NIHR BioResource is funded by the National Institute for Health & Care Research (NIHR) on a 5-year funding cycle. It has been announced recently that NIHR BioResource will receive new funding for the next 5 year period.
