The Loans Engine is one of the UK’s leading specialist mortgage, bridging loan and commercial mortgage brokerages, based in Watford, North London. We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Compliance Team and are looking for applicants who have experience of working within financial services, within a compliance or monitoring function. Successful applicants would, ideally have experience of working within the mortgage sector and or a recognised mortgage advice qualification, such as CeMAP. Having a compliance qualification would also be an advantage but not essential as the opportunity to gain a compliance qualification will be offered as part of the role.

This is a permanent role, based in our Watford office.

**Compliance Assistant responsibilities**:
In this position, your primary responsibility will be to assist in conducting reviews and audits of business activity, to ensure compliance with its regulatory obligations. Responsibilities include:

- Conducting reviews to monitor compliance with Financial Crime, Mortgage Advice, Consumer Duty, Financial Promotion and Data Protection requirements;
- Assisting with gathering MI and completing analyses with a view to verifying adherence to standards and identifying areas for improvement;
- Completing complaint investigations and reporting finding;
- Maintaining accurate and complete records of activities;
- Assisting with compliance training for operational staff;
- Maintaining knowledge of regulatory rules, guidelines, best practices, etc;
- Promoting a strong culture of compliance throughout the organisation.

**The ideal Compliance Assistant**:
In order to be successful for this role, you will need to be highly professional, motivated and enjoy working in a dynamic environment as part of a team. You will also need:

- Excellent attention to detail;
- High standards and strong values (honesty and Integrity);
- Strong numerical, analytical & written skills;
- Good communication skills;
- The ability to manage workload efficiently;
- Experience in compliance and financial services setting;
- At least 5 GCSE’s (including Maths and English) grades A - C (or equivalent);
- A FCA recognised mortgage advice qualification (CeMAP or equivalent).
