These posts have become available due to an exciting development in the Community and School Aged Immunisation (CSAIS) Teams. CSAIS has been tasked with producing a small specialist team of vaccinating practitioners for our Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Vaccination Programme in Maternity Units across the East of England, as well as supplementing the core CSAIS Vaccination Programme.

These 6 month, fixed term posts will be fully operational from September 2024. Along with core CSAIS Vaccines they will be covering Maternity Units in Hinchingbrooke, Peterborough, Cambridge.

If service needs require then there may be need to support in other units outside of the county.

Secondments from CSAIS service will be considered.

The Specialist Immunisation Practitioner (RSV) is responsible for the delivery of the Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) Immunisation Programme, and other immunisation programmes, as delegated by the Team Lead.

1. Reporting to the Immunisation Team Lead the Specialist Immunisation Practitioner (RSV) will support the development of the service and work with colleagues to ensure the delivery of a safe and effective RSV programme.

2. To support the delivery of an effective and efficient Childhood Immunisation Programme in partnership with Children Universal Services, Schools, and commissioners, where required.

3. To be responsible for collecting accurate data at each session

4. To work collaboratively with stakeholders in the planning and delivery of immunisation programmes in order to achieve the KPIs across the programmes.

5. To work with local statutory, private and voluntary providers, and users to develop and promote practice that is accessible and responsive to all section of the local community, ensuring that services are targeted to the most vulnerable groups and individuals to support social inclusion.
