**This opening assignment is for 1-2 months**
**Enhanced DBS required for this role** Provide a keeping in touch service during times of significant distress and crisis to children, young people and families/carers. Keeping in touch, supporting and linking in with families, carers and children and young people in fragile placements, providing assistance to identify needs. Contacting and visiting children, young people and families/carers in the community and at home to respond and provide action to identified needs. Providing a signposting role and during times of significant distress for families and children taking a proactive role as the link to other services and or professionals to ensure support is accessible. This may include accompany children and young people, families and carers to appointments or other, as identified and needed in order clients are helped to navigate through services Key responsibilities:

- Supporting the allocated social worker
- Contribute to the achievement of service objectives.
- Contribute to the learning and development of people in the team and undertake your own personal development.
- Contribute to the achievement of financial objectives.
- Work flexibly across Children’s Services and with other agencies, partners and stakeholders to safeguard and meet the needs of children, young people and families.
- Promote a positive workforce culture that is focussed on delivering excellent customer service and ongoing service improvement.
- Support and promote the ongoing work, development and improvement of the Directorate and the Council.
- You may be requested to lead on specific projects, take on responsibility for other areas of work and deputise for your line manager when required

- Recognised Level 3 qualification in an appropriate discipline e.g. health and social care, education And/or Equivalent level of knowledge gained through relevant work experience and the commitment and ability to undertake a recognised level 3 qualification
- Good knowledge of relevant legislation and practice including experience of working in an environment where safeguarding children is a priority.
- Experience of working in partnership with families
- Experience of working with a range of agencies including schools, health professionals and social care
- Experience of working the client group
- Excellent communication and negotiating skills
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to relate well to different groups of people
- Ability to work in partnership with other agencies and professionals
