**The Role**
The post holder will work under the supervision of a registered health care professional and be responsible for providing personal care for patients and a range of clinical duties/ tasks, ensuring that at all times actions are undertaken by the individual following appropriate training and within their sphere of competence. Provide training, direction and supervision to junior staff.
**What you’ll be responsible for**:
- Work within the Outpatient setting, providing high quality, caring, compassionate and personal care to patients and their families/carers
- Work under the direction of the Registered Healthcare professionals and senior colleagues, both independently and as part of the multi
- disciplinary team.
- Under the direction of a Registered Health Care Professional ensure a high standard of service provision within Outpatients, by practicing effective clinical and administrative preparation, effective communication and care delivery, prioritising workload appropriately and contributing to service improvements
- Developing competencies that safeguard practice and effectiveness in the role.
- Act at all times in a manner, which illustrates respect for privacy, dignity, equality, diversity and confidentiality.
- Exhibit professional behaviour and attitude at all times and demonstrate excellent customer care skills.
- Contribute to effective team working by being fully involved, committed and participating, to achieving own and others full potential.
**You’ll have the following qualification/experience**:
- NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care, completed or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience
- Completed the National care Certificate
- Functional skills minimum Level 2 Maths and English or GCSE equivalent or working towards.
- Working towards or prepared to work towards obtaining a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Clinical Healthcare
- Awareness and understanding of importance of confidentiality
- Knowledge of Infection Control & Safeguarding processes
- Experience of working in an NHS Outpatient setting
- Worked at a band 2 Health Care Assistant level or equivalent
- Experience of training junior staff
