As an HSE Specialist at Safran Electrical & Power, reporting to the site HSE Manager, you will use your experience to improve our HSE performance and compliance throughout the site. Through the use of investigations, assessments, improvement plans and compliance audits you will find innovative solutions to resolve HSE issues and risks. You will identify and lead HSE projects through to completion, as well as assisting with day-to-day HSE activities. You will work closely with the facilities, operations and engineering departments, coordinating ideas and resolving identified issues with strong solutions including input into the development of the HSE management system to ensure compliance with Safran and regulatory standards.

**The Role**
- Take the lead on HSE projects, improving HSE performance and compliance on site. These could range from small corrective actions through to full scale large site improvement projects related to all things HSE.
- Assist with day-to-day HSE activities, implementing HSE standards and ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
- Make HSE recommendations and offer technical advice to personnel at all levels.
- Develop a strong HSE culture by supporting site communications including inductions, newsletters and training.
- Carry out general safety requirements such as safety committees, provision of safety shoes & glasses and accident investigations.
- Coordinate with other departments to resolve identified health and safety issues.
- Set clear HSE expectations with contractors on site.
- Support Safran Standards Audit, ensuring ISO45001 and 14001 standards are being met.
- Collate and update HSE records, whilst also supporting divisional reporting.

**Desirable Experience**
- HSE experience within a manufacturing, production or engineering environment
- Recognised HSE qualification equivalent to minimum of NEBOSH Certificate
- Knowledge of UK HSE legislation including ISO 45001 & 14001.
- Prior experience working within HSE projects including the ability to work in with a cross-functional team.
- Strong communication skills and ability to deliver inductions and reports to various personnel.
- Knowledge of maintenance or facilities processes advantageous.
- Evidence of written English at interview stage.
