At scale DCC will be connecting >100million devices to our smart network. We have a secure and scalable platform that integrates infrastructure and connectivity to provide a nation secure message platform. This combines to support the evolution of DCC smartmetering IOT network. We want passionate team members to drive technology and architecture changes across UK smart metering network, maintain continuity of service, scan technology market landscape, build and manage connectivity roadmap.
We touch a broad range of technologies across CTO - including mobile/fixed line technologies, hyperscale infrastructure providers.
The Capacity Manager(s) will be a new role within the CTO organisation and form part of the Network Economics and Capacity Management Team. We are accountable and responsible for Smart DCC Medium to Long range demand management and capacity management of allthe Smart Metering DCC systems. The role will evaluate future demand profiles and their impact allowing engineering teams to intercept and evolve our strategic technology path. It is vital that we have line of sight to enabling the the right capacity at theright place and at the right time to support the Smart Metering Implementation programme, future use cases and the underlying critical national infrastructure required to enable success.
The role will work across CTO architecture and engineering, network economics, commercial management, and our operational colleagues who develop the short term tactical demand profile and capacity plans.
This is a greenfield role within CTO and offers a huge amount of scope to influence our strategic technology path to ensure we both understand and intercept the needs of our customers and stakeholders and that we align our supply base to our emerging technologyneeds and avoiding tactical interventions within the short-term horizon.
- What you'll be doing
Build the medium to long term demand volumetrics and capacity plan across all Smart Metering DCC platforms and domains
Conduct and report on variance to plan, isolating discontinuities and taking correction action as necessary
Establish and own the delivery of the Quarterly Refresh Process for a 5-15-year horizon working in collaboration with the Operational Head of Demand Management
Develop and lead the sensitivity analysis for capacity assumptions and demand drivers informing current and future planning parameters
Lead continuous improvement for the strategic horizon of capacity planning, assessing market developments and driving an efficiency to plan including value for money assessments (i.e., cost reduction)
Maintain a register by domain of the capacity constraints and KPI’s and critical success factors; regularly assessing the forecast breach to the capacity policies
Ensure that CTO engineering functions are kept informed of the changing demand profile and that future capacity policy and lead times to constraints, providing line of sight to interventions
What we're looking for
- Proven excel skills (advanced)
Ability to qualify and quantify future demand profiles and their impact to a technology environment
Capacity Planning and Capacity Management tools and techniques for Critical National Infrastructure supporting high availability services.
Demand Management/S&OP Demand Planning for multi-threaded national infrastructure supporting over 100 million devices and multiple customer groups
Strong reporting capability up to C-Level (internally and externally).
Kanban and/or proven Capacity Management Methodologies
Creative problem solving and analysis skills with an ability to identify develop and implement solutions remediate gaps within the needs of the business
Excellent verbal and written (including presentation) communication, influencing and interpersonal skills
Able to build relationships and network at all levels.
Able to demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy
