Apple Trees are looking to recruit a Waking Night Watch Worker to work in our progressive and 'Outstanding' short break service for disabled children and young people.
We are looking for someone who can work in a fast-paced environment; responding to emergency situations whilst giving strong direction and guidance to other staff on shift. You will need to be confident that you have the strength of character and ability to cope with the challenges the work may bring.
If successful, you will be responsible for maintaining a constant watch during the night and provide a calm authority to respond to emergencies and risks.
This type of care needs to be closely monitored and recorded, and specific risk management plans need to be in place in order to ensure the safety of the young person, therefore prioritisation and organisation skills are key.
The work at Apple Trees is challenging but highly rewarding. You will be working with children or young people who have a learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, and complex health needs. These young people may have had adverse childhood experiences which need to be considered alongside their disabilities and additional needs.

**Diploma Level 3 which is equivalent to the NVQ 3 Health and Social Care or be working towards it, other equivalent qualifications to be considered (in an associated field i.e. Child Care, Youth Work, Working with Children and Young People) is an essential requirement of this post.**
