**Finance Business Partner**

**Role Overview**:
The Finance Business Partner (FBP) plays a crucial role in providing high-quality financial support to Directors, Heads of Service, and Service Managers. The FBP team serves as a strategic partner to specific service areas, ensuring efficient financial management, operational accountancy, performance monitoring, and driving the efficiency agenda. The role demands proficient management skills to ensure professionalism and customer focus in finance services.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Support budget holders in financial planning and budget modelling for various scenarios.
- Collaborate with budget holders to ensure accurate and timely budget monitoring, including risk assessments.
- Develop financial systems and processes to ensure robust governance while implementing new methods of working through business and operational process improvements.
- Ensure services fulfill their financial statutory obligations, keeping abreast of changing legal mandates, and ensuring compliance with the Financial Procedure Rules and SORPs.
- Advise budget managers on financial analysis concerning revenue, capital, cash issues, and projects. Assist in assessing business options by interpreting and analyzing complex financial and non-financial information.
- Support the production of the Medium-Term Financial Plan (MTFP) and Capital Strategy.
- Develop improved financial awareness among budget managers and staff through management training.
- Support and train budget holders in utilizing the e-Business suite, including the ERP Gold Agresso platform.
- Deliver high levels of Customer Satisfaction to support the Finance Business Partner business plan and objectives.
- Support the closedown of the accounts schedule by reviewing processes and timescales to meet deadlines.
- Assist in delivering its strategies by analyzing changes to accounting and reporting requirements.

**General Responsibilities**:

**Person Specification**:
**Education, Qualifications, and Training**:

- CCAB part qualified or AAT qualified (or recognized professional accounting qualification or qualified by experience)
- Commitment to ongoing professional development as required by the membership of the professional body
- Appropriate Management Qualification

**Knowledge and Experience**:

- Proven experience in Financial Planning, Control, and Reporting
- Experience in developing Financial Processes
- Ability to communicate effectively with finance staff and operational managers, negotiating and influencing at a high level
- Understanding of local government operations, complexities of local government finance, and major influences and challenges
- Up-to-date knowledge of accounting policy such as IFRS, CIPFA codes of practice, and Taxation
- Direct experience of working in partnership with private, public, and voluntary organizations

**Abilities and Skills**:

- Experience analyzing and addressing complex issues, delivering tailored support to different service elements
- Innovative and creative thinking applied to complex service challenges
- Excellent communication skills, conveying complex financial issues to diverse audiences effectively
- Proficient IT skills (spreadsheet, PowerPoint, general ledger packages)
- Constructive challenge to promote corporate approach to finance issues
- Collaboration skills, working towards common goals
- Providing professional leadership and maintaining high performance under changing conditions
- Effective time and resource management to meet deadlines and targets
- Continuous improvement mindset for processes and information aiding decision making

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 weeks

**Salary**: £288.46-£375.00 per day
