Personal Assistant

**1988**

I am a lady with Parkinson’s living at home in Innerleithen. I am looking for a team of Personal

Assistants to support me with living as independently as possible. I require 4 visits a day.

**Main tasks and responsibilities**

**Morning (8:00AM for 45 minutes)**
- Please come in to support me with my personal care routine, in particular support with my

lower body but allowing as much independence as possible.
- If I have not already had my breakfast, please support me with preparing my breakfast.
- Please prompt me to take my medication - I have a blister pack and am more than capable

of dealing with my own medication so may already have completed this task.
- Once a week on a Monday I will need you to check the battery on my hearing aid and change

it if need be.
- Finally, please ensure I am wearing my Border Care Alarm before leaving.

**Lunch (12:00PM for 30 minutes)**
- Please come in and offer support with preparing my lunch - I may already have done this

but please help if needed.
- Please prompt me to take my medication - I have a blister pack and am more than capable

of dealing with my own medication so may already have completed this task.
- Finally, please ensure I am wearing my Border Care Alarm before leaving.

**Teatime (17:15PM for 30 minutes)**
- I need you to please come in and offer support with preparing or heating my evening meal
- I may already have done this but please help me if needed.
- Please prompt me to take my medication - I have a blister pack and am more than capable

of dealing with my own medication so may already have completed this task.
- Finally, please ensure I am wearing my Border Care Alarm before leaving.

**Bedtime (20:00PM for 30 minutes)**
- Please come in and offer support with getting ready for bed - I am mostly able to do this

task for myself and if I need support, I am able to ask for it.
- Please then offer to prepare me a snack before bed - I may already have done this but

please help me if needed.
- Please prompt me to take my medication - I have a blister pack and am more than capable

of dealing with my own medication so may already have completed this task.
- Finally, please ensure I am wearing my Border Care Alarm before leaving.

**Personal attributes**
- Kind with a genuine caring nature.
- Honest, reliable and trustworthy.
- Preferably someone who has experience of working with a person with Parkinson’s.

**Hours of work**
- Visits are required 7 days a week - 4 visits a day with durations listed above.
- Times need to be as above due to my Parkinson’s medication and the need to take this at

specific times of day.

**The terms**
- £11.00 per hour.
- 5.6 weeks annual leave, calculated on a pro-rata basis.
