**About the role**:
As an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (immigration specialist) you will be:

- Providing intensive case management on a one to one basis with victims of Domestic Abuse and will manage a caseload of around 25 - 30 cases at anyone time.
- The primary role is to support high risks victims of domestic abuse. However as a specialist immigration adviser you will take the lead on cases whereby the victim has insecure immigration status to provide advice and support in relation to these matters to reduce the risk to the victim.
- In order to make the service accessible to victims you will need to engage with local services where the target client group is likely to present to set up referral pathways and potentially drop in/outreach sessions at agencies with high need.

You will need:
- An understanding of domestic abuse, risk assessment and risk management preferably with an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor accreditation. However, if you have experience but have not completed the accreditation then you must be willing to undertake the appropriate training.
- Knowledge of immigration issues, preferably with OISC level 1 qualification or a willingness to undertake this training.
- The ability to build relationships with key stakeholders and develop multi-agency responses to support and reduce the harm to victims.
- The ability to appropriately challenge and advocate on behalf of victims in order to achieve positive outcomes and reduce the risks posed to victims
- To be flexible, adaptable and highly resilient.
