Reporting into the Group CFO, and leading on the strategic direction of our tax agenda, the Head of Tax will play a pivotal role in the achievement of our company's commercial objectives.

Leading a team of 4, the Head of Tax will participate as a key member of the Finance leadership team ensuring that tax risks are understood, and the tax position of the Group is optimised.

Location wise, the majority of the Finance team are based in Bexhill, so some travel to this office will be expected for team collaboration and key meetings. However, we are open to this person being based in our London office with hybrid working, whichleans to most of your time being home based. Flexibility to travel when required is key though.

**Some of what you can expect your remit to include;**
- Leading on development, implementation, and delivery of the Group's Tax Strategy as well as identification and evaluation of key tax risks
- Overseeing and reviewing all Group tax compliance obligations, continuously assess, and challenging that appropriate processes and control are in place
- Acting as a business partner to business heads to provide timely, appropriate, and commercial tax advice to facilitate delivery of business aims, whilst seeking opportunities and ideas for improvements.
- Leading on managing the Group's relationship with statutory auditors, minimising audit adjustments and ensuring efficient conduct of the audit
- Continually review and test effectiveness of tax risk management controls and procedures in place, seek improvements in controls and ensure delivery of improvements.
- Leading on influencing and lobbying Tax Authorities to ensure the Group's views are considered as part of the consultation process for legislative changes
- Continuous review of Group's structure and business model to identify tax benefits and opportunities aligned with Group's Tax Strategy and commercial aims

**What we are looking for;**
- Tax qualification and/or accountant qualification
- Significant experience in the UK tax legislation alongside international tax experience
- A good understanding of the insurance/financial services market
- An understanding of the insurance business in general would be highly desirable
- Leadership experience, with the ability to build and develop a high performing tax team
