Foundry Operative

Hargreaves Foundry Ltd is one of the UK’s most successful cast iron foundries. The Company has produced castings for numerous prestigious projects such as the Houses of Westminster, Buckingham Palace & the Elizabeth Tower.

We’re looking to hire additional Foundry Operatives to keep up with our ever-increasing order book.

Full Time - Permanent

39 hour week - Monday to Friday

Duties / Responsibilities across various roles include:

- Manually knocking out castings from sand moulds
- Removing leftover sand from the exterior & interior of castings
- Shot blasting
- Using both electrical & air fed tools (grinders, cutters etc) to remove excess metal and achieve the high standard finish of castings that our customers expect
- Clearing down the furnace after casting
- Preparing and lining the furnace prior to casting
- Operating the furnace during casting
- Loading the furnace with raw materials & scrap metal on casting days

Role Requirements
- Essential:

- Attention to detail & practical approach
- Excellent verbal communication skills

Preferred:

- Foundry Knowledge
- Forklift Truck Licence
- Bobcat License
- Experience in use of overhead pendant cranes / lifting & slinging

Pay Rate - Dependant upon Role, Skills & Experience
