We have a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Procurement or ambitious Procurement Manager to join a national specialist construction contractor. They have been established for over 30 years with a turnover in excess of £100m and have developed a reputation as the number 1 contractor in their field, continuing to be the go-to supplier for the biggest names in construction and developing a national pipeline of work. Their projects typically range between £5m and £20m in value.

The Head of Procurement will be a key member of the senior management team, reporting directly to the Managing Director. You will be hands-on liaising with materials suppliers, managing an experienced team of five buyers and will be spearheading the development of the company's purchasing strategy. This will give you the opportunity to bring new and innovative ideas to the team to maximise profit, mitigate supply chain risks, improve contract relationships, and improve contract management.

To meet the challenges of the role, you will need to bring strong experience in managing a team as well as hands-on materials buying background within a construction or civil engineering company with knowledge of groundworks, rebar, concreting and muckaway. Energy and enthusiasm are going to be key, along with a motivated and proactive approach to work. You will need to bring strong technical knowledge and personality to inspire and get the best out of the team.

In return, the company is offering a package of £100,000 to £120,000 depending on experience along with an attractive pension. Their office is located in Surrey with excellent transport links.
