**Health & Safety Advisor **Inside IR35**

**Contract Term: 11-month, extension likely**

**Contracting Authority: Cabinet Office**

**Location: Hybrid - Birmingham, Leeds, London, Manchester, Nottingham Newport or Swindon 2 days per week.**

As a Health & Safety Advisor, your main responsibilities would be:
(Please know this list is not exhaustive)
- Be part of a National Assurance Team ensuring delivery of effective Health
& Safety Services.
- Support the Health and Safety Manager in his/her duties.
- Support GPA multi-occupancy Health & Safety Committee structure
working with clients, facilities management suppliers, Trades Union
representatives and GPA facilities management colleagues. This includes
managing action logs and coordinating a programme of health and safety
meetings across the GPA multi-occupied buildings.
- Carry out and support health and safety site inspections, audits and
building risk assessments.
- Support the development, implementation and maintenance of effective
GPA Health & Safety policies and processes.
- Provision of on-site advice regarding specific Health, Safety matters to
include building related incident and accident management.
- Develop and manage the reporting of Accident and Incidents by FM
Suppliers with Assurance Team colleagues to be submitted in accordance with the
GPA reporting procedures.
- Work with clients to develop their understanding of their own roles and
responsibilities, ensuring no gaps in building related health and safety
management.
- Assist the GPA FM Regional Team in managing on-site contractors and
occupiers to develop accident and incident reduction strategies.

**You’ll the following essential skills, qualifications, knowledge, and experience in**:

- NEBOSH National General or Construction Certificate
2 years minimum experience in Health & Safety related role.
- Experience of working in a multi-client service organisation in a relevant field.
- Conversant with IT systems and the ability to analyse Management Information to inform decision-making.
- Practical negotiation skills that have achieved positive outcomes.
- Client Focus - ability to interpret and understand business needs of clients in order to build positive relationships.
- Team working - working collaboratively in a positive manner to build trust and rapport across the GPA.
- Communication & Influence - ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to gain support for initiatives and to enable solution implementation.
- Conversant and competent in management of clients and contractors.
