**What you’ll be doing**:

- To attend operational incidents, including Fire, Rescue, Medical, First Aid and medical clinics, taking command where appropriate
- To maintain operational competence for the role through full participation in operational training, operational familiarisation processes, exercises and other Incident Command System development opportunities
- To carry out all duties commensurate with your role in a competent and effective manner to the highest standards of care and quality
- To be available to attend for duty in line with Service requirements and to respond immediately and safely to emergency incidents
- To maintain Service Delivery there will be occasions when you shall be required to undertake the duties of a higher role to assist with Service Delivery
- To promote, uphold and implement all BAEFRS policies, plans and procedures including, for example, Attendance Management and those relating to legal requirements such as Equality, Health & Safety, Data Protection, etc.
- To acquire and maintain all skills as determined by BAEFRS requirements by undertaking any training deemed appropriate and deliver training to other BAEFRS personnel, site staff or external agencies as required. The level of competence for the skills base will be measured in accordance with the relevant National Occupational Standards and Role Maps.
- To maintain a level of fitness for work to carry out all duties of your role in line with the Service’s Occupational Health Policy

**Your skills and experiences**:
Essential:

- Degree in Mathematics, Statistics or related field with analytical bias
- BAE Systems Fire & Rescue Service competent Firefighter or Local Authority Fire & Rescue Service competent Firefighter
- Physically fit and able to undertake practical selection tests (including achieving 8.8 in the Bleep Test & UK Fire Service Fire-Ground Fitness Test) prior to interview

Desirable:

- HGV Class C Licence

As a part of the Wider Fire Team, you will be part of exciting and challenging time for BAE Fire & Rescue Service which now includes Medical & First Aid provision across the Barrow site. We continue to deliver true partnership working, strategic change and ultimately working together to improve the safety within the Barrow site for all personnel, buildings and vessel builds.

Our Crew Commanders play a vital supervisory management role in support of this agenda within the Operational Teams. This role will provide you with opportunity to develop your career with BAE Systems.
