Programme Manager

Our client in New Malden is looking for a Programme Manager to join their team for a 6-month contract. This role will fall outside IR35. You must hold current SC clearance to be considered for this position.
In this role you will be leading a multi-disciplinary international team to design, develop and qualify the next generation of military communications satellites.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Establish the UK PMO to deliver work to UK MOD.
- Develop and maintain positive engagement with customers, partners and suppliers - acting as the
- Contribute to UK Space bids as the delivery Programme Manager
- Management of US and UK teams for delivery of UK Defence space projects
- Resolve conflicts (including prioritisation calls) with the project and with subcontractors
- Maintenance of forecasts (both financial and resource demand)
- Responsible for formal documents such as PIP, IMS, GFX list, acceptance documents, etc.
- Responsible for managing project RAID and managing project costs
- Focal point and building trust between the MOD and the delivery team
- Drives alignment of resources (staffing, supply chain, facilities, engineering, manufacturing, and production) during capture and program execution phases.
- Directs all phases of program from inception through completion. Responsible for the cost, schedule, risk and opportunity management, and technical performance.
- Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes..
- Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.
**Essential qualifications / experience**:
- You will have significant experience in the space and/or aerospace industry, ideally in defence, delivering projects/programmes ~£100M.
- Proven track record of delivering complex engineering projects across the entire lifecycle
- Delivery and acceptance of complex hardware design projects to the agreed baseline
- Demonstrable Team building with suppliers and customer
- Hold a recognized PM Qualification (APM, PRINCE2, or equivalent)
- Technical degree or equivalent knowledge/experience
- Experience of managing international delivery
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Management with 8 years of experience, OR Masters Degree with 6 years of experience.
- 5 + Years of previous relevant experience working satellite/aerospace delivery programs for commercial, civil, and / or defence customers
- Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2 or equivalent certifications.
- Requires knowledge and experience with executing program management, risk management identification and mitigation, schedule management, EVM, and cost control.
- Requires experience on delivering hardware programs from through all phases of the life cycle - requirements, design, development, manufacturing, assembly, integration, test, and fielding.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience - ability to collaborate across multiple functions and stakeholders.
